Three men were out motoring in their boat off Port Elizabeth when a whale breached directly in front of the boat. As the whale fell back into the water, it landed on the boat, pulling the boat and the three men under water. All three men sustained injuries, one was in serious condition. The most severely injured man, aged 41, had suspected rib fractures and injuries to his arm, leg, and soft tissue. The other two had minor injuries, although one was taken to the hospital with the man in serious condition. The species of whale involved is unknown, although the site is on the migratory path of humpback whales. I remember someone actually caught a picture of the whale about to land on the boat. So hectic for all involved! Reply Leave a Reply Cancel reply Your email address will not be published.
