You are here: Home Homestead Living Preparedness New Gerber Ding Dong Opens Lots of Doors New Gerber Ding Dong Opens Lots of Doors by Jo Borrás June 13, 2014, 8:00 am When the food riots start and the cannibalistic zombies / hungry neighbors take over, you’re gonna want to keep some things handy to help you, you know, bust heads. Still, if those post-apocalyptic survival movies have taught us anything at all, it’s that some people will hit the road while leaving many cans of semi-delicious canned foodstuffs in their pantries. They’ll also, however, lock their doors. You need to get through that door, kids. To get through the door, you’ll need to knock – and that’s where Gerber’s latest survival tool comes into play. Part sledgehammer, part battering ram, and part pry bar, this new tool combines all three essential breaching tools for first responders and nosy neighbors who need to get through doors quickly. The Ding Dong combines these three tools into one tight package. Also: ding dong package, huh-huh. The Ding Dong features a fiber reinforced core (fiberglass) coated in a durable Polypropylene over-mould. The business ends of the thing, however, are made from tough forged alloys – so you won’t have a problem with splintering or de-lamination. What do you guys think- is this a must-have addition to your bug-out bags, or is it just another heavy add-on that won’t get used? Let us know what you think in the comments, below!
