A few years ago, if you’d mentioned ‘tailored juices’ to me, I wouldn’t have had a clue what you were talking about, but ever since discovering this way of juicing, I haven’t looked back.
How Tailoring Works
Tailoring juices specific to your diet is critical simply because we all eat differently. It can help boost your juicing benefits to the next level. Everyone gets different amounts of certain nutrients on a different basis. Balancing your diet takes into consideration vitamins, hormones, and minerals. All of us require very specific amounts of these different things to lead a truly healthy diet.
Due to developments in technology and science, we’ve started to grasp how certain nutrients truly affect our bodies. In today’s world, balancing your diet is as simple as getting an easily-accessed test and tailoring a specific juice to compliment your weak areas.
Oftentimes our body can digest and put to use certain nutrients more effectively when they’re consumed alongside others. As an example, vitamin D and calcium complement each other greatly when they’re consumed together; this is why most milks and yogurts have vitamin D added to them. Tailored juices work much in the same way: every nutrient in them is there for a reason. After many years of experimentation scientists and nutritionists have identified some ideal combinations of nutrients.
Proper Nutrition Treats and Prevents Conditions
Through proper tailored juices, you can achieve the proper nutrition your body needs; if your body has the ideal nutrients it becomes much more resilient to illness. It not only prevents future ailments, but it can treat existing conditions. You cannot expect good results out of your body if you don’t give it the proper tools.
Tailored Juicing Recipes
Okay so let’s say you find out you’re lacking iron in your diet. The following fruit and vegetables are great to increase the absorption of the mineral, because they all contain high levels of vitamin C which increases bio availability of iron:
- Fruits That Enhance Iron Absorption: Pineapple, Orange, Grapefruit, Strawberries
- Vegetables That Enhance Iron Absorption: Broccoli, Brussels sprouts, Green peppers, Kale
A 2004 study published in the Journal of Nutrition, showed that tumors were less frequent in rats who ate both broccoli and tomatoes vs rats who ate either the vegetable on its own or who were on diets that had ‘anti cancer’ supplements with nutrients that were isolated from the tomatoes or broccoli. So to the men out there, here is a great tailored juice:
- 1 Large Raw Broccoli
- 3 Tomatoes
- 1 Carrot
- 1 Apple
Those are just two examples of tailored juices. Some are targeted to help diabetes, others are to help energy. If you’d like more ideas for creating your own tailored juicing recipes, I have some tips on my website.
Keep in mind that I’m not suggesting you replace all eating with juicing. A lot of people enjoy spending time cooking food, and juicing is only meant to be a supplement to a balanced diet, but if you’re always on the go juicing is a quick, tasty, and fun way to stay healthy.
