Two Powerful Tools to Stop Mold Growth

Mold is a nasty substance that can be found in areas that have high moisture levels, and you need the right tools to stop mold growth.

This can be in the kitchen, bathroom, on the outside of the home or in closets, basements, attics and other dark, damp places. Mold can not only cause health issues for the people living in the home and breathing it in, but it can also cause many different issues for the home itself. In order to combat this growth, there are precautions and steps that need to be taken.

Let’s Talk about Mold

Mold its self comes in all shapes, sizes and even color. The most common mold to grown in homes are aspergillus and black mold.

Aspergillus mold is the most common and tends to be found growing on foods and can be found in-home air conditioners systems. Aspergillus tends to be a black, green pepper like color. Not all molds are the same. Some molds are nontoxic to humans when eaten or touched but they can still cause and allergic reactions when breathed in. Symptoms can be an simple as red and scratchy eye, rashes and a sore throat.

Black mold is also known as Stachybotrus chartarum and is highly toxic. Unlike some of the standard molds that are commonly found in homes, black mold is extremely dangerous and needs to be dealt with promptly.

Tools to Stop Mold

Dehumidifiers

waterdamage2Dehumidifiers are a common, loved tool for many places that need to remove moisture removed from the room and the air. These tools can prevent the spread of mold, and prevent the growth of mold to begin with. If the home has a lot of moisture inside it, then you will find that mold is more easily spread in
these dark, damp areas. When you remove the moisture, you’re also removing the mold.

Air Movers

Air movers can ensure that the areas around the home stay dry. This means in the walls, and the floors of the home and can provide an overall dry feeling. When you add them to the dehumidifier that you’re using inside the home, the moisture and wetness will tend to remove themselves. This can then put you in a better position to rid the growth of mold, and prevent it from happening again.

Cleaning Up the Mold

When you have both of the products above working, then you also need to ensure that you take care of the mold that is currently there. Killing it and cleaning it off the walls, floors and other areas can make it go away, but ensuring that you have both products will help to ensure that it does not come back again.
