Here at Insteading, we’ve talked a lot about utilizing car sharing services, especially the peer-to-peer kind, as an alternative to motorized vehicle ownership. Now there are even more reasons to get excited about this shareable way to get around.

Over the past decade, car sharing has become an increasingly popular trend. With the promise of financial savings and personal conveniences, these services are influencing people all around the world to forgo car ownership. With less automobiles on the road, we are already beginning to see the tremendous environmental benefits this has brought about.

Future of Car Sharing

The creative minds over at Hyperakt recently partnered with the Collaborative Fund and the Start Up America Partnership to create an amazing interactive infographic full of more interesting facts and figures from the growing car sharing industry.

Often considered to be the easiest way for people to embrace collaborative consumption, car sharing invites consumers to explore other sharing behaviors that can reduce environmental impact and encourage community growth.
